BACKGROUND
DoubleTree by Hilton is an American luxury hotel chain, part of Hilton Worldwide. They are mostly operated by
franchisees and independently owned. They are famous for serving a large, warm chocolate chip cookie with
walnuts to each guest at check-in. We were approached by DoubleTree Hilton in Islington, owned by Jury’s inn to
upgrade their current two way radio system and have been proud to have a long-standing relationship with this
client of ours.
THE CHALLENGE
Doubletree’s main requirement was to connect their two-way radios to their fire-panels. Due to the size of the
hotel and the amount of guests staying, they wanted to enhance their current fire safety system. They wanted a
solution that provided them with a fast-response to any fires within the building.
SOLUTION PROVIDED
We upgraded their existing analogue two-way radios to digital with the Hytera PD705 and Hytera PD305. We
then installed our Alarm Connectivity Solution. This system links the two-way radios to the fire alarm and
sends messages to the right people automatically explaining what is happening when a fire alarm is activated i.e.
where the fire is.
SOLUTION BENEFITS
· Fast-response system to fires, this prevents unnecessary whole site
evacuation which causes disruption to guests and costs a lot of money
· An increase in operations, health and safety efficiency
· Upgraded, future proof digital radios that have more capabilities and
enhance channel spectrum efficiently
· Reduced interference from nearby radio users
· Improved voice clarity – digital two-way radios are noise cancelling
therefore voice transmissions are clearer in noisy environments that the hotel
is in when there are events such as weddings or conferences taking place
