BACKGROUND
St Raphael’s Hospice is a registered charity offering high-quality specialist medical and nursing care for people
with cancer and other serious illnesses as well as providing support for their families.
THE CHALLENGE
St Raphael’s, as a whole is a large site with multiple buildings. St Raphael’s Hospice originally approached us
without any good quality form of two-way radio communications and were relying on unreliable mobile phones to
communicate with one another. St Raphael’s Hospice have a complex multiple alarm system that they wanted to
have constant updates on remotely. They finally wanted a way to effectively communicate between the multiple
buildings on site.
SOLUTION PROVIDED
We provided them with Hytera PD785 DMR digital two-way radios to replace their mobile phone communications.
We then installed a distributed antenna system with repeaters to boost signal so that two-way radio users can
communicate with each other even if they are in a different building. We then finally installed our integrated alarm
connectivity solution which connected their two-way radios to their BMS fire panels and access control. This is so
that they are able to receive messages on their radios when an alarm has gone off, where and why.
SOLUTION BENEFITS
· An increase in operations, health and safety efficiency
· Upgraded, future proof digital radios that have more capabilities
and enhance channel spectrum efficiently
· Connection across their multiple buildings on site.
· Fast-response system to alarms
